The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) are investigating a triple traffic fatality at the intersection of Britannia and Fourth Line in Milton. The collision between a Cadillac and an SUV happened at around 12:30 a.m. on June 19, 2021.
An initial investigation concluded that a 28-year old Milton resident was driving a Cadillac sedan south, and collided with an SUV carrying three passengers. Two died at the scene, while a third died during transport to a trauma centre. No identities will be released until next-of-kin have been notified.
The driver of the Cadillac has what police characterize as “serious, but not life-threatening injuries. The intersection was closed for 8 hours while the HRPS reconstruction unit investigated the scene.

Update: Victims Identified By Family and Friends
The victims have no been identified. Asoka Pinnaduwage, identified the three victims as a family in a Facebook post. Athula Karunanada, his wife Somikalum, and their daughter Pradeepa.
Pinnaduwage says they died on their way home from delivering food to a friend. Pradeepa had passed her nursing exam two days before her death.
Friends will remember them for their beautiful smiles that one friend described as radiating happiness. “Pradeepa, you were such a wonderful girl… I have never met anyone with such a positive attitude ,” Callista Mahendra Ariyante said of the daughter in a Facebook post.
Visitation will take place today from 4-7pm through St. John’s Dixie Cemetery & Crematorium, and streamed here. Their funeral service will be streamed tomorrow morning through a separate link at the same website.
