Cyclist Struck in Milton

HRPS was called out to a black bear sighting in Halton Hills yesterday

On Friday June 26, 2020 just before 8pm Halton Regional Police attended a collision at the intersection of Louis Saint Laurent Avenue and Thompson Road in the Town of Milton.  Initial reports were that a cyclist had been struck and was injured.

When emergency services arrived on scene, the injured cyclist was located within the intersection.  It was determined that the cyclist, a 21 year old (male) resident of Milton, was suffering from a serious head injury and was transported to a local trauma centre.  The driver of the vehicle, a 20 year old (male) resident of Milton, remained at the scene and assisted police with the investigation.

Due to the nature of the injuries, the Collision Reconstruction Unit has assumed responsibility for the investigation.  Initial information would suggest that the vehicle was northbound on Thompson Road and the cyclist was eastbound on Louis Saint Laurent Avenue when the collision occurred.

Any witnesses, who have not yet spoken to police, are urged to call (905) 825-4747 extension 5065 and speak with investigators.  Anyone who may have dash cam footage and was in the area around the time of the collision is also urged to contact investigators.
