C-K Police briefs for Tuesday May 30

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 246 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Seven people were arrested, and four were on outstanding warrants.

Woman Arrested for Bail Violations CK23026599

At 4:50 p.m., police responded to Park Avenue East in Chatham for vehicle theft.

Police learned the victim gave the woman a ride and briefly left her alone in the vehicle. The woman took advantage of the situation and left the area with the vehicle.

She was found moments later with a male passenger. The woman was suspended from driving and was bound by conditions not to associate with this man. She was arrested, and the vehicle was returned.

The 26-year-old Zone Township woman was charged with two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking and driving while suspended. She was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of July 10, 2023.

The 19-year-old Chatham man was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for a theft and possessing stolen property. He was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of July 10, 2023.

Woman Arrested for Uttering Threats CK23026643

At 7:21 p.m., police responded to Orchard Heights in Chatham for an assault investigation.

Through investigation, police learned the woman and the victim engaged in a verbal argument, and the woman commented about harming the victim.

The 37-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with two counts of uttering threats. She was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of July 10, 2023.

Man Arrested for Bail Violations CK23026669

At 10:29 p.m., police located the man on Albert Street in Wallaceburg, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court. The man had initially been charged with child luring. He was bound by conditions not to associate with anyone under 18 years unless an adult was present and knew the charges, and he must not control any computer or device capable of assessing the internet.

Through investigation and a search incident to arrest, police learned he breached both conditions.

The 46-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged additionally with two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
