Tilbury: Woman arrested after officers assaulted

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 119 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Six people were arrested—three on outstanding warrants.

Officers Assaulted 

Early yesterday morning police responded to a vehicle off the roadway on Coutts Line, between Jeanettes Creek Road and Sinclair Road in Tilbury East Township.

While investigating the incident both attending officers were assaulted by the driver of the vehicle.

The 24-year-old Tilbury woman was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of assault. She was released with a future court date of March 9, 2022.

Woman Found Breaching Conditions 

On December 24, 2021 the woman was released from the court on conditions which included to remain in her residence at all times and not to possess more than one cell phone.

On the afternoon of February 6, 2022, the woman was found by police in the parking lot of a business on Keil Drive in Chatham. 

The 34-year-old Chatham woman was in violation of her release conditions. She was arrested and held pending a bail hearing. 

Disturbance Results in Assault Charge 

Yesterday afternoon the police were called to attend an address on Michener Avenue in Chatham for a disturbance.

Through investigation police learned an assault had taken place.

A 45-year-old Chatham man was subsequently arrested and charged with one count of assault. The man was released with a future court date.
