Ontario is extending its State of Emergency until June30, 2020. The decision followed consultation with the province’s Chief Medical Offer of Health.
“Extending the provincial Declaration of Emergency will allow us to safely and gradually reopen the province, while we continue to use every resource at our disposal to battle this deadly virus,” Premier Doug Ford said. Ontario reported 338 cases overnight. 17,537 tests were completed, and 11,636 remain under investigation.
All emergency orders remain in effect including the ones allowing frontline care providers to redeploy staff as needed to support case management, and tracing. The order limiting retirement home staff to a single home also remains in place.
The province has opened the door to the possibility of a regional reopening of the economy. Halton has recorded an increase of six cases to 655 overall, with 77 classified as pending. Milton has a total 174 cases; an increase of 4 over June 2. 20 cases are considered pending. There are 0 institutional outbreaks.
