Milton Chamber, Town of Milton partner to distribute self-screening kits for local bsuinesses

Milton Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the Town of Milton to provide COVID-19 self-screening kits to businesses with 150 employees or less throughout the community.
“It’s been a difficult and uncertain year for our business community.  The free distribution of rapid screening tests will provide much-needed support to assist in the safe reopening of our local economy,” Milton Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Scott McCammon said.   The program’s goal is to identify asymptomatic individuals and prevent them from spreading COVID-19.
Employers will be required to select a representative to be supervise the screening process.  Businesses will be required to submit data after each test to government officials.  The Chamber recommends screen take place twice a week.  Employees who test positive are required to leave work immediately, take a PCR test and await further instructions from Halton Region Public Health
“We recognize the resiliency of our business community, and our hope is that these self-screening kits allow businesses to keep operating so Milton residents can continue to shop local ,” Mayor Gord Krantz said.  The kits are available for pick-up by appointment only at Hugh Foster Hall: 141 King St in Milton.  The site will open May 11, and run Tuesday and Wednesday between 10am and 3p.m.  For more details on the process, including how to order test kits, and report results visit the Chamber of Commerce’s website
