Canada Day fireworks set for June 29

Staff Reporter

Celebrate Canada Day with the Tilbury BIA at the Canada Day Fireworks celebration taking place in Tilbury Memorial Park on Thursday, June 29.

“Last year we were fortunate to have over 4,000 people attend this event. We are thankful for the support of local businesses who help to make the fireworks an annual success,” says Tilbury BIA executive director Gloria Mailloux.

The event will feature live music by local band Leave Those Kids Alone, starting at 7 pm. The fireworks will kick off at dusk. This family-friendly event also features free cupcakes provided by Tilbury Foodland, and kids glitter tattoos and balloon twisting.  Food will also be available to purchase from the Tilbury Firefighters Association Food Booth.

This year’s presenting sponsor is Brady’s Drug Store. Brady’s staff will be sparking excitement by handing out tickets to those who show their Canada Day spirit, for a chance to win a $250 gift card to Best Buy. The winner will be announced just before the fireworks begin.

“Brady’s Drug Store is a family-owned pharmacy, and being part of the local community is important to us,” says pharmacist-owner Tim Brady. “We hope the whole community will celebrate with us at Memorial Park.”

In case of inclement weather, the fireworks rain date is Sunday, July 2. Follow the Tilbury BIA Facebook and Instagram pages to keep on top of event details.
