Man Arrested for Theft CK23027972
At 8:26 a.m., police responded to a business on Third Street for a theft investigation.
Through investigation, police learned the man attempted to take a bicycle leaning against the business’s wall. The man was identified through surveillance footage.
At 9:01 a.m., the man was located crossing the Fifth Street bridge and arrested. The man was uncooperative and resisted arrest. Upon a search and incident to arrest, the man was found with methamphetamine in his pocket.
The 28-year-old Chatham man was charged with theft, possession of stolen property, resisting arrest, and possessing a controlled substance. He was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of July 20, 2023.
Woman Arrested for Breach of the Peace CK23028061
At 4:15 p.m., police responded to Dora Drive in Wallaceburg to check the well-being of a woman on the sidewalk.
Police located the woman and found her intoxicated and unable to care for herself.
The 37-year-old Sarnia woman was transported to police headquarters and held until sober.
Woman Arrested for Impaired Driving CK23028082
At 6:12 p.m., police investigated a traffic complaint on Park Avenue West in Chatham.
Police attended in the area, located the vehicle, and conducted a traffic stop. The officer believed the woman driving was impaired. The woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters for a breath test.
The 36-year-old Chatham woman was charged with having a blood alcohol level exceeding the legal limit. She was released to the care of a family member with conditions and a future court date of June 19, 2023.
