A Milton man has been charged over a hit-and-run crash that killed a 63-year-old female pedestrian in Mississauga on Dec. 8.
Police say the woman was hit by the driver of a van while crossing the northbound lanes of Tomken Road just north of Meyerside Drive in Mississauga at around 7:40 p.m. on Dec. 8.
Police say the driver of the van did not remain at the scene. The woman was transported to the hospital, where she later died.

Peel Region had the GTA’s deadliest roads in 2020, recording a record number of fatalities despite a noticeable reduction in traffic on its streets.
The region’s 43 road deaths last year nearly doubled the 23 it recorded in 2019, and was more even than in neighbourhing Toronto, which reported 40 traffic deaths.
The death toll in Peel included 15 pedestrians, four cyclists and four motorcyclists.
Police told the Star Tuesday that Peel has registered two road-related deaths to date this this year.
