LaSalle Library announces to launch LEGO® mosaic community project

The Essex County Library, LaSalle Branch, is excited to announce a unique community project centred on the beloved childhood toy LEGO® bricks.

In collaboration with the Town of LaSalle, the project will start in mid-March and continue until completion. Children aged six and above are invited to participate in building a mosaic square using LEGO® bricks at the library. The project aims to assemble 432 mosaic squares, each measuring 8×8 inches, to unveil a surprise picture of a local favourite when completed.

The mosaic design is the creation of talented southwestern Ontarian artist Jim Wiebe. Wiebe, formerly in the automotive industry for 25 years, is pursuing studies at the University of Windsor’s Faculty of Education to become a high school tech teacher.

Parents and guardians are reminded that children under 12 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult during this activity.

The LaSalle Branch of the Essex County Library is open Monday to Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
