Good news for commuters as a new bus service is preparing to expand into Ontario’s rural areas to provide affordable transportation options during the pandemic.
Onex Bus (Ontario Express Bus) announced this month it will “soon” start servicing Windsor / Chatham line to and from London for $35.
It will also offer riders an opportunity to catch a ride in London to Pearson International Airport in Toronto. There has been no inter-cities bus service in the region since Greyhound permanently shut its operations after nearly a century.

The company officials say they are “doing a final review of schedules before routes begin,” while stops in London, Tilbury and Chatham-Kent are also in the works.
Initially, it plans to offer the service twice daily in each direction between Windsor and London to start; however, the weekday schedule is still being worked out. The company is expected to use 56-passenger coach buses on the route.
“Just trying to keep Canadians in touch with one another,” OnEx spokesperson Harvey Tawatao told local media outlets as he shared that despite much hope of launching it at the start of January, their plans were pushed back to later in the month due to COVID-19 related issues.
Although the dates haven’t been finalized, OnEx’s founder and director of operations John Samuel says they are “ready to roll this month” and are “just waiting for the restrictions to be lifted.”
OnEx, a consortium of family-owned limousines and bus companies, was founded in May 2019 in the Greater Toronto Area. It launched its London-Kitchener-Toronto service in August last year.
