C-K Police Blotter: Police arrest multiple suspects in connection with break-ins, robbery, and impaired driving cases

The Chatham-Kent Police have made several arrests in recent incidents involving break-and-enters, robbery, impaired driving, and outstanding warrants. Among the cases are a stolen vehicle recovery, a commercial break-in, and a collision involving an impaired driver.

BREAK-AND-ENTERS

The Chatham-Kent Police responded to multiple break-and-enter reports on Indian Creek Road, Chatham. A 55-year-old Chatham man was identified as the suspect in each case. He was arrested, transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters, and lodged pending a bail hearing. In a separate incident on King Street, Chatham, unknown suspects broke into a residence around 1:10 a.m., stealing $1,800 worth of property, including a laptop.

WOMAN ARRESTED FOR OUTSTANDING WARRANT

Police responded to a report of a woman lying on the ground on James Street, Wallaceburg. After conducting a well-being check, they discovered the 27-year-old Wallaceburg woman had an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court about an assault investigation. She was arrested and taken to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters, where she was held pending a bail hearing.

COMMERCIAL BREAK-AND-ENTER

Police attended a business break-and-enter on video surveillance at 2:30 a.m. Suspects had broken a glass door and rummaged through the cash register. While there was no monetary loss, damage to the front door was estimated at $1,000. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY ON KEIL DRIVE SOUTH

A woman was arrested for robbery after allegedly stealing items from a store on Keil Drive South, Chatham, and pushing two employees while exiting. Police arrested the 30-year-old Chatham woman near Warwick Drive. She faces charges of robbery and possession of stolen property under $5,000. She was released with conditions and a future court date.

MAN CHARGED WITH UTTERING THREATS

At 7:53 a.m., police were flagged down on Wellington Street West, Chatham, after a man threatened another during a verbal altercation. The 33-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested on King and William Streets and charged with uttering threats. He was released with a court date of November 4, 2024.

MAN ARRESTED FOR BREAK-AND-ENTER

Police arrested a 33-year-old Wallaceburg man on Wallace Street for an outstanding warrant relating to break-and-enter, theft, and assault charges. He faces multiple charges, including two counts of failing to attend court, and was held pending a bail hearing.

IMPAIRED DRIVING ARREST AFTER COLLISION

At 7:44 a.m., emergency crews responded to a collision on Longwoods Road, Louisville, where a man driving eastbound veered into the westbound lane, hitting another vehicle. The suspect fled the scene on foot and was later located by police. The 26-year-old Sarnia man was arrested for impaired driving, causing bodily harm, and failing to stop after an accident. He is also facing charges from Sarnia Police.

STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED

A vehicle reported stolen from Thamesville was recovered on Tower Road, Bothwell, after a police search involving K9 units and drones. One of the suspects, a 37-year-old Chatham-Kent man, was arrested in Alvinston with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police. He has been charged with possession of stolen property and is due in court on October 21, 2024.

WOMAN ARRESTED FOR PROBATION VIOLATION

A 38-year-old Chatham woman was arrested for violating her probation by consuming alcohol. Police responded to a call on Currie Street, Chatham, where the woman was found intoxicated. She was released with a future court date of October 25, 2024.
