C-K Police Blotter: Arrests made for harassment, weapons, and probation violations

Chatham-Kent police have been busy addressing a series of criminal incidents across the region, including arrests for harassment, weapons offences, drug possession, and probation violations. From Tilbury to Wallaceburg, individuals have been charged with various crimes, ranging from break-ins and threats to serious collisions and court no-shows. The police continue to investigate, urging the public to remain vigilant as they crack down on unlawful activities throughout the municipality.

MAN ARRESTED FOR CRIMINAL HARASSMENT IN TILBURY

Police responded to a disturbing incident on Canal Street in Tilbury involving a man allegedly engaged in an indecent act. Upon arrival, officers discovered the 40-year-old Tilbury man outside a residence, reportedly involved in self-stimulation. Further investigation revealed that the man had made unwanted contact with the victim in recent weeks. On September 9, 2024, at 6:16 p.m., the man was arrested after several attempts to locate him. He now faces charges including two counts of criminal harassment, two counts of committing indecent acts and failing to comply with a probation order. The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing.

MAN CHARGED AFTER THREATENING EMPLOYEES

A Chatham-Kent man was arrested following a disturbance at a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham. Police were called to the scene after the 28-year-old man became involved in a verbal altercation with employees, allegedly threatening to harm them. Officers arrested the suspect and transported him to police headquarters. He was released with conditions and given a court date of October 21, 2024.

MOTORCYCLE COLLISION LEAVES WALLACEBURG MAN INJURED

Police are investigating a serious motorcycle crash on Croton Line in Camden Township. Officers responded to the scene between Irish School Road and Tramway Road, where they discovered a motorcycle in a ditch but found the driver missing. Further investigation revealed the 25-year-old Wallaceburg man had been picked up by friends and taken to the hospital. He sustained life-threatening injuries and was later transported to a Windsor hospital for advanced care. The Chatham-Kent police are currently investigating the cause of the collision.

CHATHAM MAN CHARGED WITH WEAPON OFFENCES

A 53-year-old Chatham man was arrested after a confrontation involving a knife on Partridge Crescent. Police were called after the man, reportedly riding a bicycle, brandished a knife during an argument with a pedestrian. Officers arrested the man and found him in possession of suspected methamphetamine and opioids. He was charged with assault with a weapon and two counts of drug possession. The suspect was released with conditions and a court date scheduled for October 17, 2024.

RIDGETOWN MAN ARRESTED AFTER ARMED INCIDENT

A 37-year-old Ridgetown man faces multiple charges after a violent incident on Stanley Street in Blenheim. Police were called when the man, armed with a hunting knife, chased a woman into a business. He then entered a nearby residence without permission and threatened the homeowner when asked to leave. Police arrived swiftly and, using a conducted energy weapon subdued the suspect. He has been charged with breaking and entering, uttering threats, and two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The man remains in custody pending a bail hearing.

MAN CHARGED WITH BREAK AND ENTER

A 24-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested during a break-in at a business on Mason Street. Police were called to the scene after the store’s security system detected the man stealing items from the premises. Officers arrived and found the suspect hiding inside the property. The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He has been charged with break-in and theft and is awaiting a bail hearing.

POLICE SEIZE OVER $14,000 WORTH OF PSILOCYBIN

Chatham-Kent Police have seized over 1,000 grams of psilocybin valued at more than $14,000 after executing a search warrant at Fun Guyz on St. Clair Street in Chatham. The search was part of an ongoing investigation by the Intelligence Unit. Officers also removed signage promoting the illegal sale of magic mushrooms. Police remind the public that the possession, sale, and production of psilocybin are prohibited in Canada, and anyone involved in such activities will face legal consequences.
