Community organizations, volunteers and supporters filled the Links of Kent Golf & Event Centre this week as the Chatham‑Kent Chamber of Commerce hosted its BizConneCKt Not‑For‑Profit Showcase, an event highlighting the essential role not‑for‑profits play across the municipality.

Held Wednesday, the gathering brought together service groups, donors, employers, families and residents for an evening focused on community impact, collaboration and the stories behind the organizations that support Chatham‑Kent’s most vulnerable.

“An amazing turnout. Thank you everyone who was an exhibitor and to those whom attended in some good old fashion winter weather. Thank you to the Links of Kent for hosting in such a beautiful venue,” said Rory Ring, president and CEO of the Chatham‑Kent Chamber of Commerce.

The showcase offered not‑for‑profits a platform to share their work and connect directly with the public. Organizers emphasized the importance of these groups in delivering critical services, creating opportunities for engagement and strengthening the region’s social fabric.

Parents were encouraged to bring high school students seeking volunteer hours or career exploration opportunities, giving youth a chance to meet organizations face‑to‑face and learn how volunteering can build skills and confidence.

Seniors, retirees and employers were also among those welcomed, with the Chamber noting the value of volunteerism at every stage of life and the growing role of corporate social responsibility in local workplaces.

Participation fees for not‑for‑profit exhibitors were waived thanks to sponsorship from Postma Heating & Cooling, a gesture the Chamber said reflects the strength of local business support.

The Chamber described the event as an opportunity to inspire involvement and deepen appreciation for the organizations that make Chatham‑Kent “a better place to live, work and grow.”
