Children who will be attending Kindergarten in the St. Clair Catholic District School Board system in the fall will have the opportunity to visit their school this month.

KinderSTARt allows families of Kindergarten students to explore their classroom and meet the teachers and staff while the children take part in fun, hands-on activities.

The program is designed to create a welcoming environment where children can explore their new surroundings and build confidence as they prepare for Kindergarten.

Families will also learn about community services and resources available to help support their child’s positive transition to school.

“KinderSTARt helps children and families feel comfortable and connected as they prepare for kindergarten,” said Lisa Demers, Director of Education. “It’s an exciting first step that supports a smooth, positive transition into school.”

For parents of children in the Ridgetown area, the KinderSTARt program takes place at St. Michael Catholic School on Wednesday, Jan. 21, from 4-6 p.m.

Good Shepherd Catholic School in Thamesville will host its KinderSTARt on Thursday, Jan. 15, from 4-6 p.m.

Blenheim’s St. Anne Catholic School will stage its KinderSTARt on Thursday, Jan. 22, 4-6 p.m.

Children will receive a special KinderSTARt t-shirt and swag bag, while supplies last.

KinderSTARt events are open to all families, whether their child has already registered for Kindergarten or is just beginning to explore school options.

Advance registration is encouraged to secure a spot and receive a swag bag and t-shirt. The sign-up is available online at www.kinderstart.sccdsb.net
