The residents of Tilbury and the surrounding area have been reminded of a scheduled power outage on Oct. 6. Hydro One has planned the outage from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and expects it to continue for almost seven hours. The outage is necessary for essential system upgrades in the area.
Hydro One officials said the work will include installing a new switch. This switch is a key part of efforts to reduce the impact of future outages on the Tilbury Station. It’s part of a broader plan to minimize the frequency of outages affecting the Tilbury region in the future.
Entegrus customers can expect an interactive voice-calling system to provide details about the planned outage.
Residents have been told to prepare in advance, including assembling an emergency preparedness kit, ensuring cell phones are fully charged before the outage begins, and using surge protectors for valuable electronics. They should also lower refrigerator temperatures to 4°C and freezers to -18°C in advance.
