Tilbury District High School made history this year by fielding its first-ever baseball team. Despite most players having little to no prior baseball experience, the squad competed in six league games against other high school teams. While the team did not notch a win, they showed steady improve-ment throughout the season, making it a true building year for the program.
Guided by coaches James Morrison, Mar-cus Spencer, Colin Holowachuk, and Terry Meechem, the team’s spirit and determina-tion were undeterred by their initial results. The season concluded with a much-anticipated teachers vs. TDHS Baseball game, drawing the entire student body to watch. The students capped off their inau-gural campaign with a thrilling 7–6 victory over the teachers, ending the season on a high note and creating memories that will in-spire future teams.
